On 28 October 2026, Portugal’s Parliament approved the 2027 state budget proposal at its first reading. The government plans to reduce the standard corporate income tax rate from 19% to 18%, forecasts economic growth of 2.1% and targets a budget surplus of 0.1% of GDP.
The proposal still requires a final parliamentary vote scheduled for 24 November. The planned tax changes create demand for tax planning, financial forecasting and corporate advisory services.
